At number 70 on Gran Vía, a classic returns: the former Chocita del Loro has become Teatro Sofía, a completely renovated venue that has already opened its doors with a programme centred on comedy, music and improvisation. The new management, led by Carlos Ramos and Sandra Reyes —creators of the hit Corta el Cable Rojo— aims to revitalise the cultural offering of the area with daily shows and an approach designed to deliver memorable, energetic moments for all visitors.

Teatro Sofía’s mission is clear: to become a meeting place for those looking to unwind, laugh and enjoy diverse performances in an intimate and accessible setting. Their philosophy blends high-quality entertainment with a close, friendly atmosphere, ideal for both locals and visitors.

With capacity for 220 guests across the stalls and amphitheatre, Teatro Sofía follows a club-cabaret layout featuring tables, chairs and a highly adaptable configuration. This flexibility allows the venue to host stand-up shows, concerts, presentations, corporate events or hybrid formats with seated and standing audiences.

The experience goes beyond the stage. One of the venue’s most distinctive features is the integration of a dining service available during the show, creating a complete evening where food and entertainment blend naturally. Each visit becomes a special occasion in which the audience not only attends a performance but enjoys a broader cultural and social experience.
